Christina Dixcy: Biography
Christina Dixcy received her B.F.A. in painting and printmaking from Cornell University in 1996. Toward the end of her time at Cornell she fell in love with color photography in general and landscape photography in particular. She has been shooting landscapes ever since, over the years switching from her father's old 35mm Nikon, to a medium format Mamiya 645. In 2006 she earned her M.F.A. in photography from Hunter College in New York City. While at Hunter she continued to explore her passion for color darkroom printing. However, with the birth of her daughter in 2007, and subsequent move out of the city, she has made a switch to digital printing. While still shooting traditional film, she scans her negatives, producing both inkjet and chromogenic prints.
